DYLAN

" He’s an avid outdoorsman—someone who moves through wild places with respect and understanding.

Dylan feels like an old friend.

We’ve worked together before on a photo shoot, and when Spirit of the Moment began to take shape, I found myself drawn back to him again. He’s an avid outdoorsman—someone who moves through wild places with respect and understanding. He knows how to read the land, not as something to conquer, but as something to move with.

We met on the trail in the late afternoon, the kind of time when the day begins to soften. The sun slowly pulled itself down across the sky, stretching warm light through the landscape as we headed toward the waterfall. The pace was easy. Unforced. The trail decided how fast we moved.

As we walked, we talked about life. About who he is at his core. A man on a mission. Someone deeply grounded in the outdoors. Someone whose love for adventure runs deeper than most.

Dylan grew up in a rural farming community in central Pennsylvania, where being outside wasn’t an escape—it was simply part of life. Summers were spent in the woods, in creeks and streams that cut through the property. Movement came naturally. Over time, that movement found structure through track and cross country, eventually carrying into collegiate running.

“As the years passed, his goals shifted. Less about speed. More about distance, elevation, and discovery. Peak bagging. Fast packing. ”

As the years passed, his goals shifted. Less about speed. More about distance, elevation, and discovery. Peak bagging. Fast packing. Covering ground with intention. As a teenager, he would study the murals inside outdoor stores—images of hikers and climbers standing small against vast landscapes—imagining himself in those places long before he ever had the means to go.

Moving to Utah opened everything up. The places he once dreamed about were suddenly within reach. The Mountain West and the West Coast became landscapes to explore rather than scenes on a wall. Dylan took full advantage of the access, stacking miles, building confidence, and earning every experience along the way.

On the trail, Dylan moves with a quiet familiarity. He knows when to slow down—for overlooks, wildlife, and sunsets. Being outside allows him to disconnect from the noise of everyday life and focus on what’s directly in front of him. The objective becomes simple: reach the ridge, see something new, capture the moment, or share the experience with someone else.

“Because adventure, for him, isn’t about proving anything—it’s about curiosity, persistence, and presence. ”

As the light faded and the waterfall came into view, it became clear why Dylan embodies Spirit of the Moment. He isn’t chasing the outdoors for recognition or escape. He’s there because it’s where he belongs. Because adventure, for him, isn’t about proving anything—it’s about curiosity, persistence, and presence.

Dylan is a solid individual. The kind of person who reminds you why hiking and exploring matter in the first place. Why moving through the world with respect, awareness, and wonder still counts.

The trail kept going as the sun dipped lower.

And Dylan kept moving forward.

This is Spirit of the Moment.
